Job Summary
PACU Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit Located at a healthcare facility, this role involves providing postoperative patient care within a fast-paced surgical environment. The position requires skilled nursing support for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics to geriatrics, focused on recovery from various types of surgery.
Job Details
- Position: PACU RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit
- Schedule: Days shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 AM 07:00 PM), minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license in MD or a Compact state, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH certifications, and 2 years of PACU experience or 35 years of PACU experience combined with 2 years of ICU experience; First-time travelers accepted if they have strong experience in PACU or ICU.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers, charting system experience (preferably Epic), community hospital experience, and prior travel experience.
- Additional Responsibilities: Floating within the specialty, rotating with pre-op, and potentially to sister facilities as needed.
- Certifications: CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required, with online CPI certification accepted.
- Facility & Patient Care Details: Supports a daily census of 1520 patients across 16 beds, with patient diagnoses including orthopedic, neurology, cardiothoracic, vascular, general surgery, urology, and gynecology.
- Unit Support: Interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.
- Schedule Details: 12-hour shifts, six-week cycle with weekends worked approximately every other week, and floating required within scope.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must complete labs within 72 hours of contract signing; compliance documents due five days prior to start; acceptance of the offer is mandatory without an interview.
