Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level 1 Trauma Centerthis position is located at a busy healthcare facility specializing in acute trauma and emergency care. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including trauma management, patient assessment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse responsible for trauma and emergency patient care within a Level 1 Trauma Facility. The role requires passing a day 1 pass/fail exam and completing SIMs Lab skills for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, minimum of 2 years of ER experience, valid license to submit, willingness to wait for licensing approval, and the ability to pass the DYS exam.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience, experience with sterile procedures, and additional certifications such as TNCC and ATCN are a plus.
  • Additional Information: The position involves float duties among four facilities, including potential shifts at sister campuses and free-standing emergency rooms. Candidates must have their own vehicle and meet facility-specific dress and appearance standards, including natural hair color and no facial piercings. The hospital has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with additional support from charge RNs and PCTs, and manages a high volume of emergency cases annually.
