Description

Job Summary
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse in a hospital setting located within the service area. This position involves providing critical care to adult and pediatric patients, including those with neuro, respiratory, renal, and surgical conditions. The role supports a fast-paced, tertiary hospital environment with collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.

Job Details

  • Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required; minimum 2 years recent ICU experience; valid driver's license required.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include managing adult and pediatric patients with complex conditions such as neuro emergencies, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, and renal failure.
  • RNs will perform titration of drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
  • Work entails interpreting telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitors.
  • Includes float rotation to other inpatient units (excluding Maternity and NICU).
  • Shift durations are 0630-1830 and 1830-0630, with a requirement to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • New hires must complete 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation.
  • Candidates will adhere to unit policies, including dress code and fingernail restrictions.
  • RTO requests of 7 days or less are considered if submitted upfront; additional RTO requests are not permitted.
  • Employment is subject to unit approval, and shifts can be canceled with up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract.
  • Responsibilities also include troubleshooting vents and nasal cannula to vents.
