Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse, Alaska This position involves providing quality patient care in a hospital setting on the medical-surgical unit. The role requires managing individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles, ensuring adherence to departmental and hospital standards.
Job Details
- Position Description: Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and standards.
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Active Alaska state Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PEARS certifications.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of Medical-Surgical nursing background with critical thinking skills.
- Additional Information: Unit training includes Meditech and OBIX systems with a three-day orientation, plus unit-specific training. RN candidates must complete medication testing within the first two weeks of assignment.
- Submission Requirements: License to submit.
