Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position is available in a healthcare setting within a specialized critical care unit. This role involves managing patients with various acute conditions, including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injuries, and extremity pain, utilizing telehealth for critical care and pulmonary support. This position offers an opportunity to work in a team-centered environment with a focus on patient safety and quality care.

Job Details

• Position: ICU Nurse (Intensive Care Unit)
• Location: Within a healthcare organizations ICU setting, serving a diverse patient population with critical needs.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) are required.
• Education & Experience: Relevant nursing degree, with at least 2 years of experience in critical care or ICU.
• Schedule: Dayshift, 11.5-hour shifts, minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  • Providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a General ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Managing titratable drips such as vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics under supervision.
  • Utilizing telehealth technology and reading telemetry strips independently for escalations.
  • Collaborating with hospitalists or intensivists, who are available onsite, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Self-scheduling shifts and fulfilling weekend and holiday requirements, with flexibility within the zone.
  • Attending unit-specific orientation during the week of the start date, with the orientation location assigned accordingly.
  • Adhering to dress code in navy blue scrubs and maintaining certification compliance throughout assignment.
  • Participation in onsite hospitalist coverage and the use of various respiratory equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
  • Understanding of rural healthcare operations and telehealth utilization in critical care settings.
