Description

Job Summary
ICU Neuro (Intensive Care Unit Neurological) in a healthcare facility located in a hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized neurological intensive care to patients with critical conditions, including stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, brain tumors, cerebral edema, and other neurological emergencies. The position requires the ability to manage complex patient cases, titrate drips, and monitor critical neurological parameters.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Current healthcare certification, valid ACLS and BLS certifications, and 2 years of experience in neurological or ICU care are required.
  • Schedule: Night shift from 7PM to 7AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Patient Population: Patients with stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, brain tumors, cerebral edema, increased intracranial pressure, hydrocephalus, and other critical neurological conditions.
  • Unit Responsibilities: Manage titratable drips including Norepinephrine (Levophed), Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine), and Dopamine.
  • Technical Requirements: Experience with mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
  • Additional Requirements: ECG exam passing on day 2, pass/fail beds, and ability to read their own strips.
  • Hospital Policies: Scrubs must be navy blue. Holiday requirements include one major and one minor holiday per year.
  • Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required to MSICU, PCCU, and bordering units.
  • Experience: 0 years of experience required.
