Job Summary
An ICU Neurological (ICU NEURO) Nurse is needed in an inpatient healthcare setting to provide specialized care for patients with neurological conditions. The role involves managing critically ill patients with neurological diagnoses such as stroke, brain tumors, and increased intracranial pressure, primarily during night shifts.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required. Must pass ECG exam on day 2.
  • Education Requirements: No specific degree requirement listed.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; specialization in neuro is not required.
  • Location Requirements: No specific geographic restrictions.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include titrating drips like Norepinephrine (Levophed), Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine), and Dopamine.
  • Clinical techs: Two on unit for 16 patients.
  • Equipment: Mechanical ventilator, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
  • Call and holiday requirements: No on-call; holiday work includes one major and one minor holiday per year.
  • Floating: May be required to MSICU, PCCU, or boarders on the unit.
  • Additional requirements: Candidates must be able to read telemetry strips; Epic access required.
