Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Location unspecified. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical conditions, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The candidate will assist in various clinical duties within a fast-paced, resource-limited environment, ensuring quality patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Position Description: The role involves working on a Medical Surgical Unit with 14 beds, supporting patient care for individuals with acute and chronic health issues. The shift is scheduled for Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licenses to practice nursing, ACLS (American Heart Association), and BLS (American Heart Association) certifications. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting is required.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: RNs must be comfortable reading their own electronic strips, titrating drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives, and escalating concerns to physicians. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 and utilizes Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, and vent equipment. Full weekend shifts are expected, with a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, and holiday shifts are required. Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted. RNs may be asked to float into other acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry. The orientation will be clinical-based during the week of orientation, with specifics assigned during the week of orientation.
