Job Summary
The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital setting located in Northern New Mexico. This position involves providing post-operative care for adult patients, focusing on recovery from anesthesia, within a 3-bed unit with primarily adult patient population. The role requires delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment, supporting patient stability and safety through efficient monitoring and interventions.
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Location: Northern New Mexico
- Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts with some call on nights and weekends
- Schedule: Weekly guaranteed hours are approximately 40 hours
- Required Qualifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Must have at least 2 years of nursing experience.
- Additional Information:
- Prior PACU experience is preferred.
- The unit handles cases such as ENT procedures, with common diagnoses including appendectomy and gallbladder surgeries.
- The position involves shared responsibilities with Preoperative nursing, with no expectation to float outside of this unit.
- The patient ratio is typically 1 to 1 or 1 to 2.
- The work environment uses CQI and Medhost electronic health record systems.
- The start date is October 13, 2026, with a scheduled end date of January 12, 2027.
