Job Summary
The Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) position is located within the healthcare organizations surgical services department. This role involves assisting the surgical team with preparing and maintaining a sterile environment for various operative procedures, ensuring all supplies, instruments, and equipment are appropriately prepared and available during surgeries.

Job Details

• Position Description: Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.
• Certification & Education Requirements: Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification is required. High School Education/GED or equivalent is required; an Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent related experience is preferred.
• Experience: 0 years minimum experience required; 3-5 years of acute operating room experience preferred, with competency in ortho trauma, joint, neuro spine, da Vinci XI, advanced laparoscopic, and bariatric surgeries.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Prepares for surgical cases by checking supplies and equipment, assembling instruments, reviewing inventory, setting up sterile fields, and performing housekeeping duties to maintain a sterile environment. Transports patients, completes instrument and sponge counts, labels solutions, and performs clerical duties as needed.
• Additional Information: All associates are required to receive necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment. The organization participates in E-Verify.
