Job Summary
Infection Control Specialist, Infection Control Location: Not specified. This role involves working independently to support infection prevention efforts within the healthcare organization. The position requires an Infection Preventionist with experience in acute care settings, primarily utilizing electronic health record systems, with a focus on maintaining patient safety and compliance with standards.

Job Details

  • Certifications: CIC (Certification in Infection Control) required.
  • Education Requirements: Degree in Public Health, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or related health science field.
  • Location Requirements: No specific geographic location provided beyond a 50-mile local radius.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related infection prevention experience; 0 years minimum required, but at least 1 year preferred.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Working independently on infection prevention initiatives, following clinical guidelines, and participating in hospital-wide infection control practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic health record system, expertise in antimicrobial stewardship, MDROs, CDC guidelines, healthcare-associated infections, and outbreak surveillance.
  • Required Experience: 1 year of infection prevention experience, current CIC certification, and the ability to work independently.
  • Submission Requirements: Include response to whether the candidate has worked at a healthcare facility affiliated with Providence, with details of location and dates, as well as two references from within the last three years covering at least 6 months each.
  • Clinical or Operational Information: The position does not require RN licensure but requires competence in infection prevention tasks in an acute care setting, with no weekend shifts and guaranteed hours, flexible to start as soon as possible.
