Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Level II NICU Location: unspecified. This role involves providing specialized care for infants born at 32 weeks and above, including those requiring respiratory support, IV management, and nutritional support. The position supports a Family Integrated Nursing Care model within a busy, multidisciplinary hospital environment.

  • Clinical Responsibilities include caring for infants requiring respiratory support (CPAP, HFNC, short term ventilation), peripheral IVs, central lines, and NGT feedings.
  • The NICU typically maintains a 3-4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, depending on acuity.
  • The unit features a Family Integrated Nursing Care model with co-location of mothers and infants, supporting well couplets and pediatric patients as needed.
  • The team includes pharmacy, nutrition, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, Lactation, Child Life, and Social Work.
  • Neonatology coverage is available 24/7, involving NNPs, PAs, and neonatologists.
  • The unit is equipped with EPIC Electronic Medical Record and Plum IV pumps, and staff wear hospital-issued scrubs.
