Job Summary
ICU Medical (Intensive Care Unit Medical) - Nights, in an acute care setting. This position involves providing advanced patient care in a 20-bed medical ICU, primarily managing critically ill patients with diagnoses such as Sepsis, ARDS, Pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and Overdose. The role requires interpreting EKG strips, using arterial and central lines, and proficiently caring for ventilated patients.
Job Details
- Position Description: ICU Medical RN role working in a 20-bed medical ICU with a patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients. The unit is staffed with hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7, with telemetry monitored by a tele tech.
- Required Qualifications: Valid active Illinois license or confirmation of application process, BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association) certification, at least 1 year of experience, and current credentials to interpret EKGs, manage arterial and central lines, and titrate vasoactive and cardioactive drips.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend work is required.
- Additional Information: The assignment begins on 10/26/2026 and ends on 01/25/2027. Orientation includes 8 hours of Epic training, 8 hours with an educator, 4 hours shadowing, and 12 hours with a preceptor.
