Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) The healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated RN for a 13-week assignment in a 207-bed facility with a focus on progressive care. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, chest pain, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, DKA, and other interventional cases.

Job Details

  • Position: RN - PCU
  • Location: [Facility location not specified], within a region requiring travel outside a 50-mile radius from the candidates permanent address
  • Certification & Education: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; active licensure required; minimum of 18 months of PCU experience (Resource Team requirement)
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Skills: Stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management), PCA pump administration, medication gtt management including cardiac drips, Heparin, Insulin, blood products, IVF
  • Support within the Department: CNA, reception staff, charge nurse, phlebotomy, resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, intensivist (ICU provider until 11 pm on weekdays and 7 pm on weekends), telemetry monitoring/tech
  • Technology/Equipment: Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to all units within scope and region as needed
  • Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation
  • Scheduling & Time Off: Every other weekend rotation, no call, working 75% of holidays, up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays), schedule cycle every 6 weeks
