Description

Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care in a transitional unit specializing in intermediate care, with responsibilities including managing complex patient conditions and utilizing various clinical skills. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within a multi-unit float pool.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Education & Experience: No minimum experience required, but 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred and a valid license is necessary.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include managing patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, wound care, alcohol-related issues, suicide risk, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID-19.
  • Clinical procedures include NIH Stroke Scale assessments, virtual nursing, 12-lead EKG interpretation, airvo therapy, Voalte communication platform usage, and Omnicell medication management.
  • The role involves floating between units within the Medical/Surgical Intermediate/Progressive Care departments and other metro campuses as needed, with a requirement of at least 8 weekend shifts every six weeks.
  • Candidates should have experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
  • Additional skills preferred include sheath removal, feeding tube management, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care.
  • The position requires completion of pre-start modules and EPIC training prior to start date, as well as compliance documentation by specified deadlines.
