Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Michigan. This position involves providing specialized care to cardiac, post-operative, and electrophysiology patients within a dedicated cardiovascular care unit. The RN will utilize clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to health conditions, supporting national clinical trials and achieving exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Details

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Specialty: Step Down Unit
Location: Michigan
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan nursing license; minimum 1 year of step-down experience; proficiency in cardiac care; experience with EKG interpretation; travel experience; willingness to float to similar units; certifications in ACLS and BLS; physical copies of certifications if listed; ability to start on 11/02/2026, with end date of 02/01/2027.
Preferred Qualifications: Skills checklist completed within one year; experience in positions involving complex cardiac procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers; familiarity with national clinical trials.
Additional Information: The nurse must comply with a strict attendance policy beginning 6/1/2024, which may result in termination for unauthenticated absences or tardiness exceeding three instances. The role involves caring for approximately 4000 cardiology patients annually, including post-operative open heart surgery patients, heart failure patients, and electrophysiology study patients.
