Job Summary
A Surgical Technician specializing in the ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) role is needed at the healthcare facility. This position involves assisting in complex surgical procedures across ENT, plastics, and ophthalmology specialties, ensuring patient safety and supporting the surgical team during 12-hour shifts.
Job Details
- Position Description: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 0640-1910 with possible 1040-2310; weekday and weekend call responsibilities; possible holiday call responsibilities.
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification from AHA, completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of relevant experience, and at least 1 year of scrub experience.
- Schedule: Shift time is Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with thoracic, ENT, and plastics surgical procedures, including vitrectomy, open globe repair, abdominoplasty, DIEP flap, breast reconstruction, and various ENT surgeries.
- Additional Information: The surgical technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, supports patient safety during procedures, and assists in caring for instruments and supplies used during surgery. Knowledge of handling equipment such as Constellation, Straight Shot, liposuction tools, microscopes, and laser safety procedures is required. Candidate must have experience with intraoperative equipment and a minimum of two years of scrub experience or relevant equivalent.
