Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-risk obstetric and neonatal environment. The position requires independent attending of deliveries, circulating in cesarean sections, and assisting with newborn transition, supporting a busy unit with an average of 170-190 births per month.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 2 years of clinical experience as an RN in L&D required.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Attending deliveries independently, circulating in cesarean sections, assisting with delivering and transitioning babies, reading tele monitors when required, and functioning effectively within the unit's workflow.
- Experience: Must have LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience and be comfortable managing high-risk obstetric patients with common diagnoses such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and social/psych issues.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP.
- Other Requirements: Ability to titrate drips such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin.
- Float: Float rotation may be required in mother-baby and postpartum units; no floating to NICU or outside departments.
- Additional Notes: In-house OB/Neonatologist and pediatric nurse practitioners available 24/7; scrub uniforms provided; intensive orientation including an 8-hour compliance day and 8-hour EPIC system class.
