Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a birthing center setting. This role involves providing care to patients 32 weeks and above, including high-risk pregnancies such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and social/psychological issues. The position requires independent attendance at deliveries, circulating in cesarean sections, assisting with catching babies, and transitioning neonates.

- Position Description:
Unit Birthing Center/Mother Baby L & D; L & D Beds 13 OR Suites; 2 Triage beds; 14 postpartum beds; approximately 170-190 births per month, with 2,104 deliveries in 2025. Follows AWHONN guidelines for patient-to-nurse ratios (1:2 in labor and delivery, 1:3-4 for couplets). - Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license with BLS and NRP certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; must have LDRP experience. - Schedule:
Days shift, 12 hours; minimum 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently, circulating in cesarean sections, assisting with neonatal catch and transition, titrating drips including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. In-house OB/Neonatologist, anesthesiologist, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) available 24/7. Telemetry monitors (brand not specified) and EFM system (Centricity-perinatal) are utilized. Self-scheduling available by request; weekend rotations are every other weekend; holiday rotation with other staff; standby response time of 45 minutes; float within mother/baby and postpartum units; scrubs provided, with unit-specific orientation.
