Job Summary
A Medical Surgical Float Nurse position is available in a healthcare facility setting. The role involves providing patient care across multiple units, including Medical Surgical, Pediatric, and Telemetry, within an acute care environment. Job Details

• Position: Medical Surgical Float Nurse (MS FLOAT)
• Location: Not specified, within a healthcare organization that requires local or nearby candidates
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; Illinois license in hand; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting; EPIC electronic medical record system experience; preferred travel experience; prior float pool experience preferred.
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with cath lab recovery in IMCU preferred; knowledge of common diagnoses such as post-surgical, CHF, chest pain, respiratory illnesses, and more. No first-time travelers; experience with titrated drips such as heparin, Lasix, and insulin is advantageous.
• Responsibilities: Cover multiple units including MedSurg, MedPeds, Telemetry, IMCU, Behavioral Health, and Rehabilitation; participate in patient care management, utilizing appropriate telehealth monitoring; collaborate with CNAs and RT staff; and follow established protocols for medication titration and patient safety.
• Note: Call-in required for assignment, with staffing placements made based on unit needs; nurse scrubs in Caribbean blue; orientation includes a 1-12 hour shift on respective units.
