Description

Job Summary
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse in a healthcare facility environment. The position involves providing care for adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The nurse will deliver high-quality clinical care on the night shift, adhering to established protocols and standards of practice.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; current BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications.
  • Responsibilities include managing patients with complex conditions, titrating drips such as analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives, and reading telemonitor strips.
  • The role requires proficiency in electronic charting using the EPIC system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Licensure: Valid license required to submit.
  • Additional information: Candidate must be fully in state for week of orientation, even if first day modules are remote; respond to hospitals cancellation policy by understanding shifts may be canceled up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • This position involves working on a unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, and may include float within Zone 1 depending on departmental needs.
