Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a rural hospital setting. This position involves providing care for expectant mothers and their newborns, with a focus on high standards of patient safety and teamwork in a facility with limited services. The role requires experience in managing labor, postpartum, and neonatal care within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Education Requirements: Valid licensure to submit.
- Location Requirements: Not specified.
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional responsibilities: Manage antepartum and postpartum care, including titration of common drips such as magnesium, oxytocin, and others.
- Clinical involvement includes troubleshooting neonatal vent systems (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) and electronic fetal heart monitoring (EFM).
- Floating to medical-surgical/ER units for assistance, primarily providing support with patient care.
- Orientation includes 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
- RTO (Request to Return) needed upfront for less than 7 days within a 13-week contract.
- Candidates must pass fit testing if facial hair is present, with specific testing requirements outlined.
- Role involves working alongside a charge nurse who also takes assignments, with no assigned supervisor or manager named.
