Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN Float - Located within the healthcare providers facility, this position involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal care in a fast-paced, acute care setting. The role requires adaptability to float to various departments and the ability to interpret fetal strips and follow quality metrics, ensuring safety and high-quality patient care.

Job Details

  • Position Type: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D) Float
  • Certifications Required: BLS Certification; Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
  • Education & Experience: Valid nursing license; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery or related fields; experience in reading fetal strips, critical thinking, and following quality metrics required
  • Location Requirements: Within 50 miles of the facility and able to float to Medsurg & Emergency Department as needed
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Duties: Provide obstetric and neonatal care, titrate set rate drips such as Pitocin, insulin, magnesium, assist with transfers, monitor fetal and maternal vital signs, and respond to emergencies according to AWHONN guidelines
  • Additional Information: Must be able to interpret fetal strips, adapt to changing conditions, communicate effectively, and work within a fast-paced environment. Float may be required to Medsurg and ER units, and orientation includes 3 shifts. RTO requests must be submitted upfront, with no additional RTO approved beyond initial request.
