- Position Description:
The role involves working in a rural hospital's med/surg telemetry unit, where there is a dependence on travel nurses to ensure consistent patient care. The unit manages a patient ratio of approximately 5-6:1, with patients who may require ongoing titration of Heparin. Telemetry monitoring is essential, and nurses must be capable of reading strips. The unit uses the Paragon charting system, transitioning to EPIC by October 30, 2026. - Required Qualifications:
Valid BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications, a minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical with Telemetry experience, current RN license, and the ability to read telemetry strips. - Schedule:
12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
The unit may float to all med/surg units, including possible assignments to PCU to care for telemetry holds before transfer. Paragon charting system is used, with a transition to EPIC expected in late October 2026. No block scheduling is available, and flexibility in scheduling according to facility needs is required.
