Job Summary
L&D Postpartum Floor Nurse - Night Shift - Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized care for postpartum and labor and delivery patients within an acute care setting. The position requires managing a variety of obstetric cases, including vaginal and C-section deliveries, with experience in neonatal resuscitation and postpartum care.

Job Details

  • Shift Time: Nights
  • Shift Hours: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36
  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of 2 years of experience, licensure to submit, and an associates degree or diploma in Nursing.
  • Position Description:
    • Provide care for postpartum and labor and delivery patients, typically managing vaginal and C-section deliveries.
    • Maintain patient safety and comfort through assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
    • Collaborate with a team that includes OB hospitalist and pediatrician coverage available 24/7.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, including COVID vaccination or declination documentation and simulation lab requirements.
    • Utilize Cerner electronic medical record system for charting.
    • Participate in the hospitals holiday and weekend rotation schedule.
    • Float cross-campus to Chandler Regional postpartum if needed, based on competency.
    • Complete floor-specific orientation over three shifts.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in postpartum and labor/delivery units, ability to manage multiple patients, and competency in neonatal and obstetric care.
  • Additional Information:
    • No ventilator management required.
    • No IV team; nurses do their own IV starts.
    • Scrub color for travelers is dark blue.
    • Hospital has 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy support.
    • Cancellation policy allows up to four shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
