Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in Medical Surgery at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care for individuals with a variety of common diagnoses, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. The position requires a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality nursing services in an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Position: Medical Surgical Nurse - Medical Surgical Floor
• Location: Not specified, within 60 miles of the healthcare facility
• Shift: Days, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 11/02/2026
• End Date: 02/01/2027
• Required Qualifications: Valid licenses to submit, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), minimum of 2 years of experience on a medical-surgical floor, NIHSS certification, and experience in titrating drip medications like analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting, knowledge of EPIC system, ability to read telemetry strips, and float requirements may be applicable
• Additional Information:
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on the unit, with nurse aides operating at a 1:5 ratio
  • Equipment includes Cpap, BiPAP, High Flow, vents
  • The unit expects self-scheduling, with a commitment to a minimum of six weekend shifts every six weeks and holiday work as required
  • Charge nurses may take assignments, and float within Zone 1 is possible depending on departmental needs
  • Orientation during the week of start date, with scheduling details provided during that time
  • Charting system used is EPIC
