Job Summary
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse (MS REHAB) located in a small community, this position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury. The role focuses on restoring function and independence through therapies and holistic patient care, often in an inpatient setting.
Job Details
- Position involves coordinating total nursing care for patients on a Medical Surgical Rehabilitation floor, with a focus on recovery from surgery, illness, or injury.
- May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse, providing leadership and overseeing patient care.
- Participation in patient and family education is required.
- Must work with an EMR system (Cerner).
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
- Average daily patient census: 22.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Vermont RN license or Compact, 2 years recent Medical Surgical Rehabilitation experience, BSN strongly preferred, current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least 1 year of recent Med Surg Rehab experience.
- Must be willing to float between units as needed within scope of practice.
- Previous travel experience of at least 3 months required.
- Candidates must have their own vehicle, as this small community does not have public transportation.
- Requests for time off during the assignment must be noted at upload; no requests after offer will be approved.
- Profile submissions should include work history, skills checklist pertinent to Medical Surgical (within last year), signed reference from the past two years, and current licenses and certifications.
- On-call, holiday, and overtime hours may apply, with multipliers of 1.25 for call-back, 3 per hour for charge, and other scheduling specifics to be noted in the submission.
