Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Specialist Location: Not Specified. This position involves working within a high-acuity, nationally-recognized Cardiovascular and Thoracic program. The role requires highly-skilled, experienced staff capable of circulating in a fast-paced, complex environment, supporting a diverse surgical team including approximately 25 surgeons. The professional will assist in a variety of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, utilizing extensive prior experience and general cardiovascular operating room knowledge.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The role supports a nationally-recognized cardiovascular and thoracic program that handles complex cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplants, robotics (thoracic and cardiac), peripheral vascular, thoracic, aortic repair, vascular access, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), Impella, IABP, ECMO, among others. The candidate must be able to circulate and potentially scrub (preferred but not required).
  • Qualifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS certifications required. Minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room circulating experience is required.
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Shifts may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays, with a call response time of 30 minutes.
  • Additional Information: The position entails working in a high-acuity environment with a focus on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, operating with EPIC electronic health record system. The role involves a call minimum of one weekday and one full weekend per month, with potentially more based on staffing needs. No float rotation required.
