Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Nurse Iowa
Located in Iowa, this position involves providing specialized nursing care within a Progressive Care Unit. The role requires clinical expertise in neuro, ortho, trauma, and general medical-surgical patient management, supporting patient recovery and safety across multiple campuses.
Job Details
- Certifications and Education: Active Iowa or multistate license required; BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certified required; ACLS preferred.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Stepdown, Progressive Care or Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting; neuro/neurology, ortho/orthopedic, trauma care experience highly preferred; EPIC electronic medical record experience required; experience with lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, airvo; experience administering heparin PCAs and 3% sodium; ability to read and understand relevant clinical equipment and documentation; valid drivers license; professional references within the last 24 months.
- Preferred Qualifications: Night shift availability, additional certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, and trauma care experience.
- Additional Information: Night to have work coverage; no first-time travelers; must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months; no local candidates (must be at least 50 miles from the facility); candidates will be required to float across all campuses; orientation scheduled for 10/26 and 11/9; holiday work required during winter season unless unit is closed.
