Description
Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse in an acute care setting, available for an assignment starting November 2, 2026, through February 1, 2027. The role involves providing care to adult and pediatric patients recovering from surgical procedures, with a focus on high acuity cases and pediatric patients. The position requires working on a rotating schedule within a large hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Position Description: Responsible for caring for surgical patients post-procedure, including ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR patients. Utilizes equipment such as Epic charting, AcuDose Medication Dispensing, Phillips monitors, vents, and BiPaps.
- Required Qualifications: Active ND RN license, ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), with a minimum of 2 years PACU experience, and hospital critical care experience preferred.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, including varied weekend rotation, and occasional nights; backup call in rotation with staff.
- Additional Information: Must be able to care for pediatric and adult patients, including high acuity cases. Floating to other units/departments and between campuses for Phase I PACU may be required. The unit has 18 bays in Phase I PACU across two floors and maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1-1 or 2-1. Hospital provided scrubs are required, and orientation includes basic hospital/unit training and a Buddy RN program.
- Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) required.
