Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse - General Location: The healthcare facility is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care to adult patients from adolescent (16+) through geriatric populations. The role involves managing critically ill patients with strong clinical assessment skills, interpreting hemodynamic monitoring results, and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Provides individualized nursing care to critically ill, adolescent (16+) through geriatric medical/surgical patients; assesses patients with strong critical thinking skills; interprets and responds to hemodynamic monitoring results; anticipates and manages patient complications; utilizes technology to enhance care; collaborates with physicians and healthcare workers, delegates and supervises unlicensed personnel; may supervise students in CCU; uses equipment such as electronic charting, smart pumps, ventilators, arterial and central lines, and overhead patient lift systems.
- Required Qualifications: RN license valid in the state or multistate compact; BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of Critical Care Unit experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN and/or TNCC certifications; experience in Medical Surgical, Pediatric, or Emergency Department settings is a plus.
- Schedule: The role involves 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday rotation are required; includes every other holiday.
- Additional Information: The unit has 8 private rooms, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 for critical care patients; may float to Medical Surgical and Pediatric units based on census. Orientation includes 2 days of general hospital training and 1-2 days of unit-specific onboarding, depending on experience.
