Job Summary
Wound Care Specialist, Wound Care This position is located at a healthcare provider in the area. The role involves providing comprehensive wound and ostomy care, including dressing changes, debridement, and patient education. The specialist will work closely with inpatient and outpatient teams to enhance patient outcomes and participate in departmental initiatives.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Under the direction of the medical director and/or hospitalist provider, this role evaluates and assesses wounds/ostomies, performs wound care procedures, and assists with performance improvement activities. The position may include occasional staffing in the wound center as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing), current Maine RN license or compact license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification current or within 30 days of hire, 0-3 years of experience, and strong communication skills.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Must be trained in wound care and ready to see patients. Experience in wound care preferred.
  • Responsibilities: Collaborates with staff to provide skin, wound, and ostomy care; educates patients and families; maintains documentation; manages outpatient and inpatient care; and participates in emergency procedures.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to provide timely documentation of care and participate in staff meetings.
