Job Summary
PACU Post Anesthesia Care Unit in a healthcare facility located in the area of Lewes Beach and Rehoboth Beach. This position involves providing specialized patient care within a busy PACU environment, supporting patients recovering from anesthesia across various surgical specialties. The role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to adapt to variable shifts, including on-call weekends.

Job Details

• Position Description: Unit notes include four 10-hour shifts with variable start times (0500, 0600, 0700, 0800, 0900). The schedule will feature on-call weekend support every 4 weeks, rotating between days and midnights, with some 12-hour shifts during pre- and post-operative weeks to balance work-life demands.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS. Education and certification requirements include the appropriate licensure and at least 2 years of critical care experience in an acute care setting.
• Schedule: Dayshift, 10 hours per shift, 40 hours per week, with some weekends and rotating on-call shifts.
• Additional Information: The unit manages a variety of patient cases including orthopedics, gynecology, pediatrics, vascular, ENT, cesarean sections, gastrointestinal, and general surgery. Experience with Alines and ventilators is preferred. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic charting, and RX Station for medication management. The role may involve floating to other units as needed, with potential stay in rotation with permanent staff.
