Job Summary
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Specialist in the Medical Center area. This position involves providing post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia following various surgical procedures. The role requires a focus on patient safety, team collaboration, and adherence to clinical guidelines within a busy PACU environment.
Job Details
- Certification, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required. No minimum years of experience specified; entry-level candidates are considered.
- Schedule: Evening shift from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, or 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, or 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The unit has 14 beds with a staffing ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. Typical procedures include endoscopy, hernia repairs, myomectomy, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, joint repair or replacements, lumbar fusions, and most other general surgeries. On call duty occurs once per night every two weeks. The role emphasizes teamwork, a positive attitude, and willingness to assist others.
