Job Summary
The Dallas ICU Surgical (Intensive Care Unit Surgical) RN position is based in Dallas, TX. This role offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity ICU specializing in surgical and oncology patient care, providing critical support in a fast-paced environment. The position requires clinical expertise, adherence to unit protocols, and excellent patient care skills.

Job Details

  • Shift Hours: 12 hours
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0
  • Position Description: Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, responsible for managing critically ill surgical and oncology patients using advanced ICU equipment such as ventilators, GE Cardiac Output monitors, and NXStage dialysis devices. The role includes performing bedside procedures like thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, and intubations, with documentation completed in Meditech. The unit staffing is based on acuity and skill levels, with assignments made accordingly.
  • Required Qualifications: Active RN license in Texas; 2 years of ICU experience; BLS; ACLS.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CRRT, Hypothermia protocol; Meditech experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: The position involves working with a surgical patient population, including oncology cases. Nurses must adhere to dress code policies, including wearing royal blue scrubs, maintaining a neat appearance, and covering tattoos and piercings as per guidelines. Floating may be required as needed.
