Job Summary
MS (Medical Surgical) Nurse, located in the medical surgical floor unit, provides post-operative surgical care to general surgery patients in a healthcare setting. This position involves floating between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius, based on staffing needs and patient acuity, supporting a team-oriented environment.

Job Details

• Location: Medical surgical floor unit
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, successful completion of a proctored rhythm test, professional profiles and references, and no experience minimum (0.0 years required).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult patient populations, skills in post-operative care, and demonstrated teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Responsibilities: Provide quality care to patients with diagnoses including bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity. Maintain communication with the healthcare team, including surgical residents. Manage patient care for young adults through late adults (ages 18-60+), ensuring patient stability and safety.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit capacity is 32 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Patients are hemodynamically stable and do not require mechanical ventilation. Teamwork and effective communication are highly valued to support patient care and operational efficiency.
