Job Summary
The organization is seeking an Emergency Room (ER) Nurse for a 12-hour night shift position located at a Level 4 trauma center. The role involves providing acute care to a diverse patient population with conditions such as chest pain, stroke-like symptoms, altered mental status, and other urgent medical needs. The ER team manages critical drips, triages patients bedside, and collaborates with physicians and support staff to deliver timely treatment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS, ACLS, PALS are required. Minimum of 2 years of ER experience is necessary.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Triage patients bedside, monitor and titrate critical drips including norepinephrine, propofol, diltiazem, heparin, epinephrine, midazolam, fentanyl, amiodarone, phenylephrine, assist with procedures, and document patient care in Cerner system.
• Additional Information: The ER handles approximately 95 patients daily with a nurse-to-patient ratio of typically 1:4. There are dedicated charge nurses for each shift, and the department employs ED technicians who are paramedics. RT staff perform ABGs, breathing treatments, and assist with intubations 24/7. RNs are responsible for reading their own monitor strips. The department maintains a structured self-scheduling system and may require staff to participate in holiday rotations. No call or standby is required.
