Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Night Shift at a regional medical center. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns in a dedicated nursery unit. The role requires managing deliveries, caring for infants, and collaborating with the delivery team in a hospital setting.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Requisition for a Licensed Nurse (L&D) to work in the Labor and Delivery Department at a regional healthcare facility.
  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), STABLE (Stability patient management certification), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; at least 2 years of experience in a nursery; experience with sick babies; 0 years minimum experience; Location requirements as applicable.
  • Additional Information: The nursery has 6 postpartum and labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) rooms, 2 triage rooms, 5 postpartum/wellness hospital rooms, and 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds. The unit employs Centricity for charting and Paragon for medications. Staffing ratios follow AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) standards. Candidate must attend every delivery and care for infants exclusively within the nursery. The unit does not float to other hospital units and will not have to charge. The hospital handles approximately 80-90 births per month.
