Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN in a Level 3 facility This role involves providing specialized neonatal care to patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation and up. The position requires managing complex diagnoses such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN), and other genetic defects, with a focus on high-level clinical skills within a busy NICU environment.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Education Requirements: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation of application process; minimum of 2 years of experience in NICU or Level 3/4 ICU setting preferred.
- Location Requirements: IL license or application process initiated
- Years of Experience: 0.0
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, weekly minimum of 36 hours, with shifts from 0700-1930 or 1900-1930.

- Additional Information: This role involves working in a NICU with a patient ratio of 1:1-3, including care for micro preemies and managing titratable drips such as Fentanyl, Morphine, and Precedex. Nurses are responsible for troubleshooting ventilators and monitoring strips. The unit operates with a neonatologist in-house 24/7, alongside APNs and residents, supporting comprehensive neonatal care. Staff will participate in unit-specific orientation and may float to other pediatric units as needed.
