Job Summary
NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) RN Level 3, Nights, located in the NICU. This role involves providing specialized neonatal care to patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation and up, including those with complex diagnoses such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia, persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, and genetic defects. The position requires working 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, supporting a high-acuity neonatal patient population.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Education Requirements: Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of neonatal intensive care experience required
• Location Requirements: Must have IL licensure or verification of application in process
• Position Description: Providing neonatal critical care to infants with complex health needs in a Level 3 NICU setting. Responsibilities include titrating medications, troubleshooting ventilators (Conventional Vents, Oscillator Ventilator, JET ventilator, CPAP, Nasal IMV, Heated High Flow, Tracheostomy), and managing a range of diagnoses including abdominal defects, pre-cardiac repair, and genetic conditions. Responsible for patient monitoring, clinical assessments, and collaborating with Neonatologists, APNs, and Resident/Fellow teams.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, shifts primarily from 1900-1930, with flexible options, including every other weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
• Additional Information: The unit is in-house Neonatologist coverage 24/7, with in-unit PCTs, APNs, and Resident/Fellow support. Float to PICU, PIC, Peds, Nursery, sitter, BHM, and adult units may be required based on staffing needs. No current call or standby requirement.
• Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active IL license or proof of application, understanding that OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and a negative drug screen is required.
