Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients on a designated step down unit, primarily caring for conditions such as stroke, CHF, PNA, sepsis, COPD, PE, and AKI. The position requires teamwork, proficiency in managing stroke patients, and the ability to work independently during 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS; minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with one additional shift every 6 weeks, utilizing self-scheduling.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring high-flow oxygen, BiPap, and other ventilator equipment, reading telemetry strips, and performing titrations on drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nicardipine, and Dobutamine.
  • The role involves floating to other units as needed, with a requirement to arrive within 1 hour if called in, and adhering to the dress code of navy tops and bottoms.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with at least 90%, and their driver's license will be used to verify distance from the facility, which must be within 50 miles.
  • The hospital maintains a policy prohibiting artificial nails in patient care areas.
  • Orientation includes three shifts specific to the assigned shift.
  • Charting is completed in the EPIC system.
  • No minimum years of experience beyond the stated 2 years are required.
