Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Days Shift Location TBD. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with conditions such as stroke, CHF, PNA, sepsis, COPD, PE, and AKI. The nurse will work in a fast-paced acute care setting with a focus on teamwork and clinical competence, particularly in caring for stroke patients.

Job Details

  • Position Description:
    RN for a Step Down Unit with a focus on stroke and other critical diagnoses. The role includes passing a skills exam with resources provided, requiring a score of at least 90%. Candidates must have a valid drivers license for radius verification and adhere to fingernail policies. Unit involves virtual nursing, with patient ratios of 1:4-5 and a telemonitoring presence.
  • Required Qualifications:
    Valid license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a related setting.
  • Schedule:
    Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with one additional shift every six weeks.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    Competency in caring for stroke patients and teamwork-oriented approach.
  • Additional Information:
    Candidates must be comfortable with titrating drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nicardipine, and Dobutamine. The unit employs self-scheduling, and orientation includes three shifts. Hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
