Description
Job Summary:
A Step Down Unit Nurse Practitioner based in the designated clinical setting. This role involves providing specialized care for patients requiring intermediate medical attention, with a focus on trauma, stroke, and cardiopulmonary conditions. The position emphasizes teamwork and competency in managing complex patient diagnoses, including stroke, sepsis, and respiratory issues.
Job Details:
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience.
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with one additional shift per 6 weeks, self-scheduling, and every third weekend requirement.
- Requirements: must have a license to submit, and drive at least 50 miles from the facility; candidate must pass a skills exam with a 90% score during orientation; must be capable of caring for stroke patients; will be required to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nicardipine, Dobutamine.
- Responsibilities: Participate in unit orientation, respond to call-ins within 1 hour, and float as needed within the unit.
- Equipment/Monitoring: High flow oxygen, BiPap, O2 titration, telemonitoring with monitor tech support, and reading ECG strips.
