Dialysis Nurse, Dialysis Unit, location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized patient care in an outpatient dialysis department. The position requires teamwork, compassion, and a commitment to patient safety, with flexibility needed for rotating shifts and varied hours.

Job Details

  • Certifications Required: BLS Certification
  • Education and Experience Requirements: Valid Nursing license; minimum of 1 year of dialysis experience; 1 year of clinical experience required
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must be within 50 miles of the facility and must not have been affiliated as full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility within the past 12 months
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, variable days and evenings, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Additional Information: Must be willing to read water room and use bicarb mixer (training provided). No medical assistants or patient care technicians are used; the team includes one Licensed Practical Nurse and the rest Registered Nurses. Responsibilities include managing treatments for adult to geriatric patients, including those with catheters and fistulas, and administering common medications such as Heparin, Ferlecit, cinacalcet, and midodrine. The department operates with a team-based approach, including team work, motivation, providing compassionate care, patient safety, and infection control.
  • Shift notes: Variable days/evenings following a rotating schedule with weekend and holiday rotations, and over-time shifts available. Upfront RTO (Request To Leave) needed; additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
