Description

Job Summary
Telemetry (TELE) Nurse in a Level II Facility located in California. This position involves providing care for stroke patients and those with high acuity conditions on a cardiac telemetry floor. Candidates must be stroke certified and have experience caring for stroke patients, with prior tele, stepdown, or progressive care unit (PCU) experience. The role requires professional nursing skills within a fast-paced acute care environment, with flexible scheduling and the ability to work independently.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Cardiac telemetry floor assignment requiring stroke certification and experience caring for stroke patients. Previous tele, stepdown, or PCU experience preferred.
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, and Experience: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of minimum experience; relevant licensure; and valid certification are required.
  • Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, with a requirement to work 2 weekends every 4 weeks and holiday shifts as needed.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should be capable of primary nursing care, may not always have nurse aides available, and must be able to read and interpret monitor strips. Cerner EMR experience is preferred; orientation includes Cerner-specific training for up to 3 days if no prior experience. First to float to medical-surgical telemetry floors; assigned to monitor units managed by monitor techs.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to submit a license; charting is done via Cerner.
  • Note: There is a 30-minute response time for standby status, which counts as a cancellation if not called in. No restrictions on second jobs if prior travel assignments are completed within the past 12 months.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
