Job Summary
Step Down Unit Nurse, located in Johnstown, PA, is responsible for providing specialized care to adult patients with complex health needs such as cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, and respiratory conditions. This position requires a nurse with neuro-medical-surgical experience and competence in dysrhythmia management, working a 12-hour shift to support patient recovery and safety.

Job Details

• Position: Step Down Nurse in Neuro Medical-Surgical unit in Johnstown, PA
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 through 01/11/2027
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in NIH and Swallow Screen preferred, 2+ years of experience in neuro-medical-surgical nursing, competent in dysrhythmia management, and able to pass a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Trach and Ventilation, NIH certification, Swallow Screen
• Responsibilities: Care for adult patients with CVA, TIA, seizures, urinary and respiratory issues, and other neurological and trauma-related conditions, with patient ratios around 1:6, up to 1:7 depending on patient needs.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours weekly, with flexible weekend coverage options.
• Additional Information: Competency test on dysrhythmia and math dosage required; holiday availability is needed as per scheduling.
