Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, IV Vascular Access. This travel position supports vascular access services, including sterile dressing changes, peripheral intravenous placement, ultrasound-guided intravenous placement, and vascular access troubleshooting. The role requires experienced travel nursing practice and may involve floating between units based on patient care needs.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience; travel nursing experience required; vascular access nursing experience required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; compact state license in hand at submission; electronic health record experience required; competency in adult inpatient care, central and peripheral vascular access, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and midline catheter procedures, ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access, sterile and aseptic technique, catheter troubleshooting, dressing changes, phlebotomy, and vascular access assessment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience preferred.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; weekends required, sometimes more frequently than every other weekend.
- Additional Information: The position provides a 1:1 patient ratio and supports neonate, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Responsibilities include sterile dressing changes, peripheral intravenous placement, ultrasound-guided intravenous placement, vascular access troubleshooting, and occasional PICC or midline placement. The role may float between units according to operational and patient care needs. Day coverage includes a team of three clinicians, while night coverage includes one clinician; PICC placements are not performed during night shifts.
