Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in a neuro-focused unit working night shifts. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, neurosurgeries, and neurological disorders. The position requires strong neuro nursing experience and proficiency with electronic medical records.

• Education & Experience: No specific education requirements listed; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in neuro or medical-surgical nursing
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 10/26/2026 and ending 01/25/2027
• Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neurological patients, including those with strokes, seizures, surgical/postoperative spine conditions, and neurological disorders
  • Use Epic electronic health record system effectively
  • Monitor and manage patients on titratable and set-rate drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin under physician orders
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, RTs, and monitor techs to ensure optimal patient care
  • Follow protocols for neurological assessments and patient safety standards
• Additional Information:
  • Unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 on the floor and 1:7-10 with nurse aides
  • RT (Respiratory Therapy) available 24/7; vent management generally handled by RT and physicians
  • Telemetry monitored, but RNs do not read strips; verification of monitor techs' readings recorded in Epic
  • Floating to other units such as 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E may be required
  • Weekend rotations include Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays or Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, with possible holiday work
  • Scrub color is any combination of white and royal blue
  • Unit-specific orientation is one shift
