Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. This position supports perioperative care across a broad range of surgical procedures for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The role requires travel experience, community hospital experience, rotating weekday and weekend call coverage, and a two-year experience minimum.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse license; two years of experience; travel nursing experience; community hospital experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Nurses Operating Room (CNOR), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; experience with operating room procedures, surgical monitoring, blood and blood product administration, code response, infection control, specimen handling, peripheral intravenous starts, universal protocol, wound management, and patient safety procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I or Trauma Level II experience.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, 6:45 AM5:15 PM, Monday through Thursday, with 40 hours per week. Rotating after-hours and weekend call is required, including two 24-hour weekend call shifts per month.
• Additional Information: The operating room includes four surgical rooms and approximately 14 surgeries per day. Responsibilities may include scrubbing and supporting general, gynecologic, orthopedic, podiatric, vascular, trauma, and minimally invasive procedures, as well as hysterectomy, appendectomy, arthroscopy, cesarean section, cholecystectomy, fracture reduction, hernia repair, joint replacement, laminectomy, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and other complex surgical procedures. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
