Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The position provides perioperative nursing care for general surgery, cataract, robotic, orthopedic, and gynecologic procedures. The role requires clinical expertise in a fast-paced operating room environment, including weekend call coverage and holiday availability as needed.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 2 years of operating room experience; at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty submitted; experience with general surgery, cataract procedures, robotic surgery, orthopedics, and gynecologic procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience and charting system experience.
• Schedule: Day shift, 10-hour shifts from 06301700, 40 hours per week. No scheduled weekends; weekend call is required approximately one in every four weekends. Holidays are scheduled as needed.
• Additional Information: The role supports adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients and may involve general, orthopedic, robotic, cataract, gynecologic, urologic, gastrointestinal, and vascular procedures. Clinical responsibilities may include specimen handling, infection control, surgical equipment safety, blood product administration, conscious sedation monitoring, peripheral intravenous access, urinary catheterization, wound management, and emergency response. Travelers may be required to float as needed. A telemetry examination is required before starting, with strict passing criteria and up to three attempts under the stated review process. Bedside shift reporting, patient-experience standards, hourly rounding, and barcode scanning compliance are required.
